History

Birla Mandir Jaipur’s history is unique in its way. The land on which today this marvelous temple stands with all its might once belonged to the Royal Family of Jaipur. The Maharaja sold the land for the price of only one rupee to the Birla Family. This temple was built by the B.M Birla Foundation under the direction of Ramanauh das and Ghanshyam Birla. Construction began in late 1977 and the temple was finally opened on February 22, 1988. The Birla family has also constructed Birla Mandirs in 14 different cities in India other than Jaipur.

The festival of Janmasthami is the main festival that is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Over the years, on the occasion of Janmasthami large gatherings can be seen all around the temple. Architecture

The whole temple is built with white marble, which gives the temple a marvelous look that catches the eye of everyone. The Birla Mandir Jaipur is divided into four parts: sanctum, the tower, the main hall, and the entrance. There are also glass-stained windows that showcase the traditional Hindu religious stories. The lavish gardens surrounding the temple provide a calm and spacious atmosphere to the visitors. A big OM sign can be seen on the wall behind the deities. The word OM holds great importance for the Hindu religion. It signifies the union of the mind, the body, and the spirit.
