1. Somnath Jyotirlinga
It is very famous among all 12 Jyotirlinga and almost the oldest among all Jyotirlinga. Somnath Jyotirlinga is nestled in the coastal area of Saurashtra in Gujarat. It is believed that when sati self-immolated in her father’s yagya, Shiva carried her corpse and lord Vishnu cut the body into many piece. 11. Vaidyanath Jyotirlinga
Famously known as Baba Dham, Baidyanath Dham, the Vaidhyanath Jyotirllinga is locatd in Deogarh in the Indian state of Jharkhand in the Santhal Parganas division. Legends has, the Raavana worshiped here and praised Lord Shiva. Happy with Raavana’s austerity, Shiva given boon him that he later used to wreak havoc in the world. The top of this temple is little broken keeping the legend that it chipped away while Raavana tried to uproot it.
12. Girneshwar Jyotirlinga
It is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in the Verul village which can be reached from Daulatabad within a distance of 20 km and 100 km from Manmad station. This temple was also reconstructed by Ahilyabai Holkar who has also re-constructed the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. Devotees call this temple with different names such as Kusumeswarar, Ghushmeswara, Grushmeswara and Grishneswara.
