1. The Theosophical Society – Adyar
It is formed by the students which and it does not belong to any particular religion or to none. There is a Garden in the society which is also known as Huddleston Garden. 2. Muttukadu Lake
Located 35 km from Chennai, the Muttukadu Lake is located on East Coast Road. The shimmering lake with boats and jovial environ make your tour more pleasing. People travelling here can indulge themselves in the water sports activities like rowing, wind surfing, water skiing, and high speed Aqua scooters, pedal boat and much more. 3. St. Thomas Mount
When we talk about the heritage sites in Chennai, people generally talks about the great architecture, ancient monuments, temples, gardens and other places. What we don’t talk much about is the cathedral of St Thomas Mount. One of the less explored places in Chennai is named after Thomas who was the disciple of Jesus who leaves his mortal adobe here. In 16th and 17th century the place had served as the lighthouse to guide Portuguese and British ships. Compact with 134 steps which are made of granite welcome you to the arch that holds three crosses in the main entrance. Church conducts the prayer services by from Monday to Saturday at 6:30 am, 12 PM and 6 PM and on Sunday at 7:00 AM, then at 12 PM and followed by 6:00 PM in the evening.

Listed among the famous landmarks on the Marina Beach the Madras Lighthouse is facing the Majestic Bay of Bengal on the east coast. Earlier it was restricted to the meteorological department and their work and in 2013 it was reopened to visitors also. The lighthouse is listed among few lighthouses in the world and the only one in India which is having an elevator. Madras Lighthouse is the only lighthouse of India within the limits of city. The lighthouse is open for travellers from 10 AM to 1 Pm and 3 PM to 5 PM, on Monday the place remains close. People who wish to visit this place have to pay 10 Rs as entry fee for adult and Rs 5 for children below 12 years. For foreigners the fee is Rs 25. You can catch the beauty of this lighthouse in your camera then you can do that by paying Rs 25. The bird eye view from the 9th floor of the tower will be spectacular.

5. Besant Nagar Beach
One of the popular tourist attractions of Chennai, the Elliot Beach is also known as the Besant Nagar Beach or Bessie. It forms the end point of the shimmering beach shore of Marina. People can find the Velankanni Church and Ashtalakshmi Kovil which are located near the vicinity of the Besant Nagar. The serene and beautiful blue sky, glittering sea shores and pounding waves will offer you a spectacular and memorable view.
