Nestled on the banks of Vaigai River, Meenakshi Amman Temple is a prominent tourist and Spiritual destination of South India. The temple is located in the temple city, Madurai. Other names by which this temple is called are Meenakshi Amman Kovil and Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva. 3. Ramanathaswamy Temple
The temple is believed to be as old as time, while some other says the temple is of pre-historic age. Ramanathaswamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is listed as one of the 12 major Jyotirlinga. This temple is located on the eastern side of Pamban Island. According to the legends, when Lord Rama returns after the hideous war with demon king Raavana, he visit this temple and prayed to Lord Shiva to atone the sins that he had committed during the war. 4. Vivekananda Rock Memorial
