Read More on Anguri Bagh
History
In 1637, the Anguri Bagh history began. Emperor Shah Jehan constructed Anguri Bagh, often known as the Garden of Grapes. It was the main plaza of the zenana apartments, or royal ladies' residential quarters, with the Khas Mahal to the east and red sandstone arcades on the other three sides. The garden was separated into compartments in an intricate geometrical layout and there was a marble-paved platform with a fountain in the center.
This garden was recognized for harvesting the finest grapes and flowers throughout the year, as the name says. It was created as a relaxing getaway or paradise garden for the royal women, with perfect solitude. Hammams, or imperial bathhouses, were built with stunning royal blue and gold wall paintings.
Architecture
On the east, the garden is bordered by the Khas Mahal, and on the other three sides, the red sandstone arcades. Hammams (bath huts) were also built for them in the northeast corner of the yard, with perfect seclusion in mind. Around 85 symmetrical gardens are currently housed in this lovely tourist attraction in Agra. A fountain has been placed in the center, adding to the exotic majesty of the location. A reflecting pool with scalloped borders is also one of the garden's key attractions.
