History

The historic monument can also be called a neglected tomb. This tomb has not much left now but whatever it holds is worth viewing. What makes it stand out from the rest of the monuments in Agra are the vibrant and colorful tiles on the walls and ceilings. The Chini ka Rauza was constructed in the year 1635. The architecture of the monument is enticing, it has two gates and is an octagonal-shaped three-storied structure. It has a similarity that it shares with the structures of Egypt and Rome. To reduce the usage of concrete the monument walls have earthen pots. The detailed tile work and beautiful balconies will make you want to get clicked. Due to lack of conservation, public awareness, time, and whether the paintings and artwork have slightly worn off.

Architecture

The structure is three-storied and octagonal. The tomb is decorated using tiles from China and mud is used in its construction. The tomb stands unaffected but most of the structure has faced wear and tear due to the climatic changes. The biggest problem that historical places in India face is that people do not understand the importance they hold and end up damaging the property. The walls have inscriptions written on them that are Islamic. They either write their initial there or end up damaging the carvings. The tomb is built in an Afghan style and is a rare sight because it is not easy to find monuments built along the lines of Persian architecture in India.

Activities

You can spend some peaceful time here and you can also go through the rich history of the place. The detailed artwork and the colorful tiles are quite fascinating. This monument will carry you back to those golden days and it will make you ponder on the thought that, how did people back then come up with such designs even after the lack of technology? You can even roam around and click pictures of the monument, there are no camera fees and no restriction on clicking pictures.

Our Rajasthan trip was very unorganized and from day 1 we need to argue for each committed hotel and details. Driver and hotel were not informed in advance and we need to pay 12000/- for the forceful event at the hotel which was never informed to us.
