Shri Dagdusheth Halwai, a well-known Maharashtra sweet maker, was born in Karnataka and moved to Maharashtra in the mid-1800s. He was a wealthy businessman and a successful Halwai. When he and his wife lost their son to the plague pandemic, tragedy struck. The couple was grieved by their loss, and their Guru Shri Madhavnath Maharaj encouraged them to create a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh. Over 125 years ago, the temple was finished in the late 1800s. Shri Tatyasaheb Godse, Shri Mamasaheb Rasne, Shri Shankarrao Suryavanshi, and Shri Kashinath Rasne, the temple's founding trustees, played a significant role in transforming the temple into a magnificent venue for religious ceremonies in Maharashtra.

In terms of art and crafts, the temple of Dagadusheth is not far behind. Dagadusheth used expensive materials and stones to create an aesthetically pleasing temple. The temple is also very well-endowed. The temple is heavily guarded due to some of its valuable artwork and stones. Lord Ganesha's deity is insured for a whopping price of ten million rupees. The Halwai Ganapati Trust is a charitable trust run by the temple. It is doing a good deed for the elderly by opening the Pitashree, a new old age home in Kondhwa, Pune.

They also built a structure for impaired children's education, high-quality meals for the needy, and free hospitality services for them and the indigenous tribes. • Lord Ganesha's daily aarti and other ceremonies are worth visiting. The Ganesha idol stands 7.5 feet tall. Coconuts are presented by devotees to the lord in exchange for blessings. From time to time, large amounts of gold and money are also offered.
• You can also take part in one of the temple's celebrations. The most important of them all is Ganeshotsav, which takes place in August or September. Ganeshotsav is a ten-day event in which the temple is festooned with colorful lights and flowers in stripes.
