Parvati Hill, a single hilltop rising 640 meters above sea level, has a long and illustrious history dating back to the 17th century. There were many little shrines atop its peak from the days the Maratha took the hill under control. Shivaji Maharaj granted Priest Mahadbhat, the son of Mudgal Bharat Purandare, the rights and seal of Parvati Hill Pune to maintain the shrines during his reign as king.

There is a mythology about the construction of the main temple. The main temple was built in 1749 by Shrimant Peshwa III Nana Saheb to fulfill his mother's vow, according to mythology. His mother, Kashibai, was suffering from a persistent foot disease at the time and came to see him. 
She prayed for her health and promised to construct a beautiful temple once she was healed. She recovered quickly, and Nana Saheb built what is now known as the Parvati Temple on Parvati Hill, as per her promise.

Devadeveshwara's temple is surrounded by a two-story octagonal wall. From the second floor, balconies extend. While laying the foundations for this structure, a storage room was built. Although no evidence of a tunnel leading from this room to the Shaniwar Wada has been discovered, it is thought to exist. A three-story fortress may be found on the northern side. An arcade runs the length of the fortification's ground floor. The Gokha or Gawaksha is to the east. It's a three-window structure that looks like a terrace. At the time of the pooja, music was played from this location. There is a fortified stairway in front of this that leads to the Peshwa Wada. To get to the top, there are four stairwells.

• Get Your Adrenaline Pumping: Those who enjoy working out should jog to the top of the hill early in the morning. You can also go hiking here when there are fewer people. This is the ideal area to get a strong energy boost first thing in the morning.

• Because there are no restaurants in the immediate vicinity, guests must bring their own water bottles and snacks.
• Be aware that there are no sanitary restrooms available here, so plan appropriately.
• The temple has roughly 103 steep steps, which might be exhausting for non-regular or inactive people.
• Make sure that the majority of your valuables are safely stored in your tour car or vehicle.

Throughout the year, the weather in Pune's Parvati Hills is comfortable, with spectacular views of the city. The months of August through February, on the other hand, are considered to be the greatest months to visit this historic edifice. The weather is at its best during these months, with nice breezes blowing and the sun not as severe as it is during the summer months.

• The Peshwas used this temple, which sits at an elevation of 260 meters above the city level, to keep an eye on their approaching adversaries.
• There is also a museum near the Temple that contains well-preserved Maratha life extracts for future generations to observe, enjoy, and learn from. Manuscripts, inscriptions, coins, arms, idols, portraits, and weaponry are among them.
• The Peshwa monarch Balaji Bajirao is said to have watched the Britishers fail and retreat from the Parvati hill Pune during the legendary Battle of Kirki.
