History
Srila Prabhupada founded the ISKCON Temple in Chandigarh in 1978. Sri Radha Madhav Temple is a place of worship for followers of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. It is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radharani. This majestic temple, which is spread over 3 acres of great property and is part of the ISKCON organization, gives lectures and distributes publications on Lord Krishna's teachings.
Architecture
The Sri Sri Radha Madhav temple is a gorgeous structure with a lawn and guest house at the back with legions of rooms for temple priests. During significant occasions such as Janmashthami and Rath Yatra, the temple will be glistening, and no pious soul will be elsewhere.
The temple includes a vast prayer hall that is thought to be the largest in any North Indian temple, and it is here that Krishna Devotees dance to Krishna's chants. Priests shower water over the worshipers at the altar area as a cleaning procedure for their souls. Circumambulations in front of the deities, surrounded by Lord Krishna's magnificent engravings, transport you to another realm of bliss.
Activities
- The 24 Brahmin priests offer the Gods six aarthis and six bhogas on a daily basis. Dhoop Aarti, Tulsi Aarti, Raaj Bhoga Aarti, Sandhya Aarti, Mangala Aarti, and Pushpa Aarti are among the aartis.
- There are several shops inside the complex where you may purchase religious texts and sculptures. The temple's gift shops are also a boon to visitors. Refreshments can be consumed at a reasonable price. Both visitors and religious groups are easily attracted to the location.

- Keep your shoes outside of the temple before entering.
- Do not take any food items inside the temple.
- Photography is not prohibited.
Best time to visit
Chandigarh's summer season begins in March and lasts till June. The heat is acceptable during the day in March and April, and the evenings are lovely. However, the months of May and June are the hottest of the year, with temperatures reaching over 100°F. Mild rains and thunderstorms occasionally visit the city, providing welcome relief from the oppressive heat.
