The Kaiserbagh Palace is one of the most visited tourist spots in Lucknow. The Kaiserbagh was the 4th and the final palace of the Nawabs who ruled Lucknow. It was built in the year 1847 during the rule of the last Nawab of Lucknow – Wajid Ali Shah. The palace remained to have its stronghold even after the last nawab was exiled to Calcutta. The palace was an architectural marvel and also a powerhouse during the revolt of 1857. However, as the Brititisher’s considered it a major threat, the palace was destroyed, and thus came down the magnificent structure.

The ruins of the palace still attract the visitors, as the place symbolizes India’s fight for freedom. The visitors can still get a glimpse of the pediments, lanterns, Moorish minarets, and banisters here. The tombs of Nawab Saadat Ali Khan (the fifth Nawab) and his beloved wife Khursheed Zadi, rest on the northern terrace of the palace’s courtyard.  Kaiserbagh palace's Lucknow timings are from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. History


The history of this palace dates back to when it was built by the Wajid Ali Shah, the Nawab of Awadh in 1847. The palace was an architectural marvel and was considered to be the powerhouse of the Revolt of 1857. However, the British viewed the palace as a threat and decreed its destruction. The ruins of the palace now stand firm exuding the untold stories of India’s fight for freedom.

Great service and friendly team

Our Rajasthan trip was very unorganized and from day 1 we need to argue for each committed hotel and details. Driver and hotel were not informed in advance and we need to pay 12000/- for the forceful event at the hotel which was never informed to us.
