History
Swami Vivekananda transmitted Sri Ramakrishna's essence over the country in 1857, and this spiritual blanket engulfed the country. Physical temples dedicated to this message were built across India, starting in the north.
Swami Vivekananda's tumultuous conversations with the Nawabs of Lucknow in 1888 and 1889 resulted in the far later establishment of the first Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram in 1925. The current temple is a newer variant that was built near the original sacred location.
Architecture
The white structure of the new monastery, which was built in 1987, combines Hindu and Islamic architectural elements. It also features modified designs from the time's Indian kingdoms.
The contemporary Ramakrishna Math temple has an attractive marble-finished gateway in addition to red-cemented key treasures from Hindu mythology. The parallels of the entrance are adorned with numerous legendary animals and characters carved in stone.
The temple's sanctum, which is surrounded by nine white domes, is guarded by an ornately carved gate. However, despite the classic Mughal design, this section of the temple exudes a Rajasthani spirit of architecture. The prayer hall features an ornately designed white and brown floor, as well as a magnificent chandelier with more than 250 lights.
