History
The Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum Bangalore is a major landmark as it is located in the heart of the city. The museum is easily reachable via public transport. In 1970 the museum staff left everyone dumbstruck, they launched a mobile science exhibition which had 24 exhibits mounted on a bus for people to see. The bus carried with it a portable planetarium, a large screen for showing science films, and a telescope to observe the night sky was also a part of the journey. In the year 1979, the museum’s built-up area was increased. Now, this museum is well known and attracts a huge number of tourists. The built-up area is approx. 43,000 sq ft and it is constructed in the ground of the Cubbon Park.
