History of Jammu

Bahu Mela: it is another festival that is conducted twice a year in the Kali Temple. This temple is built in the Bahu Fort and the festival is held from March to April and from September to October. You can even visit during Baisakhi and Chaitre Chaudash, celebrated in Uttar Behni.

Two famous melas held here are Purmandal Mela and Jhiri Mela. The Purmandal Mela is organized during Shivratri and every nook and cranny of Jammu is celebrating the nuptial of the deities.

The Cuisine of Jammu:

The food of Jammu is famous for its uniqueness and the Dogra dishes are something you must not miss out on. Some dishes that you must try are Kashmiri Pulao, Rajma, Aloo Dum, Auriya, Ambal, Kulthein di Dal, Khatta Meat, Dal Patt, Maa da Madra, and Patisa are some dishes that will awaken your taste buds. Some of the famous sweet dishes here are Panjeeri, Chocolate barfi, Patisa, and also a dish made up of processed cheese named Kalaadi.

4. Mubarak Mandi Palace – The Royal Residence

Great service and friendly team

Our Rajasthan trip was very unorganized and from day 1 we need to argue for each committed hotel and details. Driver and hotel were not informed in advance and we need to pay 12000/- for the forceful event at the hotel which was never informed to us.
