Bahu Mela: it is another festival that is conducted twice a year in the Kali Temple. This temple is built in the Bahu Fort and the festival is held from March to April and from September to October. You can even visit during Baisakhi and Chaitre Chaudash, celebrated in Uttar Behni.

Two famous melas held here are Purmandal Mela and Jhiri Mela. The Purmandal Mela is organized during Shivratri and every nook and cranny of Jammu is celebrating the nuptial of the deities.

The Cuisine of Jammu:

The food of Jammu is famous for its uniqueness and the Dogra dishes are something you must not miss out on. Some dishes that you must try are Kashmiri Pulao, Rajma, Aloo Dum, Auriya, Ambal, Kulthein di Dal, Khatta Meat, Dal Patt, Maa da Madra, and Patisa are some dishes that will awaken your taste buds. Some of the famous sweet dishes here are Panjeeri, Chocolate barfi, Patisa, and also a dish made up of processed cheese named Kalaadi.

The pickles that are famous here are Kasrod pickle, Zimikand pickle, Girgle, Seyoo, and Tyaoo, these are served with the main dish that you order. 4. Mubarak Mandi Palace – The Royal Residence

This is the residence of the Maharaja of Jammu Kashmir and is so huge that it can be spotted from a distance easily. The basic and oldest structure was constructed years ago and then many more structures were added from time to time. This structure is a beautiful one that portrays a blend of unique architectural styles from various places like European, Mughal, and Rajasthani. It is located in Ramnagar near the fort. The Sheesh Mahal was built by Raja Ram Singh and this Mahal has walls that have mirror installations in it. The Mahal has been decorated with some beautiful paintings and murals which highlight happenings ancient epics like Ramayana.
