History
The Bhangarh Fort’s history is long and illustrious. The Bhangarh Fort in Rajasthan was built in the 17th century and is a historic site. It was thought to have been built for Man Singh I, one of Akbar's Navratnas, for his son Madho Singh I.
The Haunted Story of Bhangarh Fort No. 1:
According to the first version, a king named Madho Singh built the Bhangarh fort after gaining permission from a local ascetic named Bala Nath, who consented to a condition that the fort's shadow should never fall on the ascetic's residence. But, as fate would have it, one of Madho Singh's ambitious successors built to the fortifications vertically, leading the ascetic's house to be engulfed by its dark shadow. The fort, lo and behold, was doomed in no time once it happened. The claimed prophecy came true, and the fort of Bhangarh became haunted.
The Haunted Story of Bhangarh Fort 2:
A more prevalent version of the Bhangarh Fort haunted mythology holds that Princess Ratnavati of Bhangarh was to blame for the terrible disaster that befell the fort. A local black magician fell in love with her (the princess is said to have been extremely attractive) and attempted to bewitch a cosmetic she was supposed to apply to seduce her. The princess detected the black magician's plot and thwarted it by pouring the enchanted cosmetic over a big stone boulder, which allegedly crushed the 'Tantrik' to death. Before dying, the magician cast a curse on the entire terrain, vowing that no soul would ever be able to live in peace there again.
Architecture
Temples, palaces, and Havelis can be found upon entering the entirely wrecked fort city through the main gate. The Lahori Gate, the Ajmeri Gate, the Phulbari Gate, and the Delhi Gate are four additional points of entry to the fort. Many Hindu temples, including Hanuman Temple, Gopinath Temple, Someshwar Temple, Keshav Rai Temple, Mangla Devi Temple, Ganesh Temple, and Navin Temple, are located at the main gate's entrance. The Gopinath Temple is erected on a 14-foot raised pedestal, and the temple's magnificent carvings are made of yellow stones. The Purohitji Ki Haveli, the priest's home, is located within the temple complex's borders. The Nachan Ki Haveli (dancer's palace) is the next in line.
