History
Kesroli Fort history may be traced back over seven centuries. It is thought to have been built by the Yaduvanshi Rajputs, who claim ancestry from Lord Krishna but converted to Islam and became known as Khanzadas in the mid-14th century. It was then taken by the Mughals and then the Jats before being returned to the Rajputs in 1775 when the princely state of Alwar was established. It reached its pinnacle under the reign of Ranawat Thakur Bhawani Singh (1882-1934), who was known for his equestrian prowess.
The renovation began in 1995 and the Kesroli resort opened to the public in 1998. Its inner gardens, which can be found in both the Mardana and Zenana districts, are pleasant and intimate, framing the architecture.
Architecture
The Kesroli Fort architecture is a magnificent blend of Rajputi-Mughal style. The Hill Fort of Kesroli was constructed in an outpost location of Kesroli's tribal settlement area. The location was chosen atop a metamorphic rock mount fortress. This citadel is located approximately 250 meters above sea level. It is well-known for its massive walls, which are adorned with gun towers. It is the fort's most popular attraction. This fortification is built in the shape of a big square. Its walls are raised to a height of 65 feet, making it extremely thick and robust. This stronghold is a rare biodiversity hotspot.
The magnificent Alwar can be seen from the top of the fort palace, which also has a woodland area. The basement and platform parts of this fort are largely made of granite stones. The uplifted buildings are generally made of sandstones. There are many large hallways and rooms inside the fort. There is a swimming pool both within and outside the fort. The resort people are currently constructing a swimming pool on the outskirts.
The palace is supported by huge pillars throughout the fortification. There are huge windows, which are currently framed with woods and glass to appeal to tourists who wish to stay here. Its patio is a one-of-a-kind location. From its vantage point, it can accommodate almost 100 persons for bird watching and sightseeing.
