History
According to the Neemrana Fort History, the city is named by a local chieftain Nimola Meo as Neemrana. He lost the city to the Chauhans and they took control of the city. He wished to name the city but was denied by the Chauhan rulers. Later, the Chauhan rulers named the city as per the wish of that chieftain. Raja Rajinder Singh in 1947 moved to Vijay Bagh and thought of giving the fort to someone else. He waited for around 40 years to hand over the property.
In 1986, the restoration of this fort started. The Neemrana fort along with 15 lively rooms opened its doors in 1991. Since then it is a nominee of the Aga Khan Award and holder of the Intach-Satte Award. This palace was fully ready with 72 suite rooms, hanging gardens, a grand restaurant, and open pools by the year 2008. This stunning Neemrana fort palace now fascinates every traveler. It is hard to make out that this fort was once a ruined fort.
