History
Many tenants had occupied the Himachal State Museum building after Independence, after the Viceroy, and then various government officials. This was then converted into a museum on January 26, 1974, and was inaugurated by Governor S Chakravarti. It belonged to General Innes and was a small mud-roofed house in the early 1860s. It was later owned by the ruler of Sirmour after General Innes and then taken over by the imperial government.
