History
The chronicle of Kumbhalgarh Fort relocates to the 6th century when it was erected by King Samprati. Due to the lack of an authenticated record, the history of this fort from its origin till the invasion by Alauddin Khilji remains novel. The present-day fort was fabricated in the 15th century by Rana Kumbha of Mewar. The Kumbhalgarh Fort separated the region of Mewar from Marwar. It was also utilized as the place of shelter for the rulers of Mewar at the time of menace. The Fort has played a crucial part in modelling the region's yore. The great King, Maharana Pratap was born in this citadel and the infant prince Udai of Mewar was housed here when the kingdom of Chittor fell under siege.
Architecture

The Fort houses more than 360 temples, out of which 300 are obsolete main temples. It took 15 years of meticulous planning and hard work to build this majestic skyscraper that has survived the ravishes of time.
