History


There isn’t much when it comes to the Shedup Choepelling temple history. The Happy Valley is the place where the temple and the statue of Buddha reside. This is also known to be a place where the Dalai Lama took refuge. He was the one to designate the Tibetan Government here in 1959.

Getting In mussoorie

BY AIR

The nearest Domestic Airport to Mussoorie is Jolly Grant airport which is  60 km away. It is well connected to New Delhi, Mumbai, and major cities of India via various flights. Once you reach Mussoorie from the airport via bus provided by roadways or a private cab it will be easy to reach the temple. From the picture palace, the Shedup Choepelling temple is 4.8 km away.

BY ROAD

The roadways Bus Stand of Mussoorie will drop you either at picture palace or at library road. From there you can hire a cab to reach the temple.

BY RAIL

Dehradun railway station which is 35 km away is the nearest railhead. From here you can either get on a bus, hire a private cab or search for a sharing one to reach Mussoorie. Once in Mussoorie, from library chowk, the temple is 2.9 km away.

Great service and friendly team

Our Rajasthan trip was very unorganized and from day 1 we need to argue for each committed hotel and details. Driver and hotel were not informed in advance and we need to pay 12000/- for the forceful event at the hotel which was never informed to us.
