Read More on Ana Sagar Lake
History
Anaji Chauhan created this beautiful lake near Ajmer. Between 1135 and 1150 AD, the king constructed the lake. The lake was built to ensure the advancement of civilization, and the process began with the construction of a dam over the Luni River. The lake's catchments were built with the community's help, although the 'Baradari' pavilions surrounding the lake, which are largely marble-stoned, were built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1637.
Another Mughal monarch, Jahangir, constructed the neighboring Daulat Bagh Gardens, which are known for their greenery and atmosphere. The British Residency was originally served from the circuit residence on the nearby hilltop. The High Court has forbidden any additional construction in the Ana Sagar Lake's watershed area to ensure that the lake's splendor and beauty stay clean and unaffected.
