The starting of Mapro was not as huge as it is now. The company started in a dim-lit room of a house in the village named Gurehar. In the year 1959, Mr. Kishore Vora started the venture independently with the sole purpose of supporting the framers in the surrounding area. He decided to make strawberry jams using fresh berries as time passed they realized that this business tactic was beneficial for both the farmers and Mr. Vora. This led to the launch of Mapro in 1978.

In 1980 Mapro Garden expanded and introduced the Mapro Food Factory. They used a very amazing technique to expand their reach and welcomed the guests to see how the syrups consumed by them were produced in the factories using large machines. When they realized that the customers felt involved and interested they decided to introduce a few more products. Since then the Mapro Garden Mahabaleshwar has been a huge magnet for tourists and is also visited by locals on regular basis.

The Mapro Garden covers two acres of land and has a mesmerizing view. The huge garden houses a chocolate factory, a restaurant, a kids section, and a store that sells the products of Mapro. The garden also houses two beautiful and cozy cafes along with a nursery. They possess a huge auditorium that showcases films on fruits and chocolates to those visiting the garden.

• Once you get to the manufacturing unit you can observe the process that goes behind the making of some of your favorite products.

• You should visit the restaurant and bakery to try out delicious dishes served there.

The best time to visit Mahabaleshwar is from December to February. Winters add up to the charm of Mahabaleshwar. You can also visit the Mapro Garden in winter but if you want to be a part of the Strawberry festival then you should visit this garden during March and April. You can check the dates of the festival on google. During monsoons, it is hard to explore the destination because of the heavy rains so plan accordingly.
