Nathmal ki Haveli was dedicated to the former Prime minister of Jaisalmer, Mohata Nathmal, by his siblings Lulu and Hathi, and was established in 1885. These brothers are thought to originate the work of construction on the chalet around the same time, albeit independently. They began by dividing the territory into two parts. As they lacked the defense mechanisms to protect harmony and coherence, they managed to establish an erratic, one-of-a-kind edifice. Even though both halves of the haveli are equivalent, these are not the same. Nonetheless, the haveli retains its status as being one of Jaisalmer's most appreciated structures due to its exceptional artistry and craftsmanship.

It is made of exquisite yellow sandstones and is particularly attractive at dawn and dusk when the whole of it is bathed in the sunrays. The exterior sheathing is embellished with ornaments, and the interiors are ornamented with magnificent artwork from the past. The ceiling is accompanied by a set of solid arches with light murals of turbines and automobiles on it, alluding to the advent of the current period and the introduction of science. Furthermore, the landmark is filled with 'jharokha,' or porches and wide patios, to accommodate the scorching heat and temperature.
