Jaisalmer is a prominent tourist spot located in the state of Rajasthan in India. It is also known as the 'golden city' due to its golden dunes and castles. Jaisalmer located in the desert region is prone to extreme temperature. The temperature ranges between 49 degrees C and 25 degrees C in summers, while in winter it ranges between 24 degrees C and 5 degrees C. The temperature falls at night during in summer also, so bring appropriate clothes depending on the time of your visit.

One of the best times to visit the city would be during the world-famous Desert Festival which is celebrated every year during February for three consecutive days. 

This amazing festival exhibits the unique and colorful culture of Rajasthan. Numerous remarkable events like turban tying, camel race, folk dance, and fire dance are organized for large crowds in the dunes of the Thar Desert, which is close to the city.

Jaisalmer Fort- It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, that falls under the category of 'Hill Forts of India'. Built in 1156, Jaisalmer Fort gets its name from Rao Jaisal the former Bhati Rajput ruler. In today’s time, around three thousand people live within the fort walls with multiple gates. 

Kuldhara Village- Located around 20 kilometers from the Golden City Jaisalmer, it is one of the most intriguing attraction sites that you should visit. The village, rich with its fair share of legends and myths, is said to be a haunted village.

Gadisar Lake- This lake lies on the outskirts of Jaisalmer in the dry state of Rajasthan, looks like an oasis in the heart of a desert. It was built by Raja Rawal Jaisal keeping in mind the need of his people.

Jain Temple-  Situated inside the famous Jaisalmer Fort, this site is of heavy historical and religious importance. These temples are of tremendous archaeological significance and are strongly associated with religious sentiments.

Patwon ki Haveli- Also known as the Mansion of Brocade Merchants, it is a famous tourist attraction in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Built by a rich trader in the 19th Century, it is a cluster of five small Havelis.

Nathmal ki Haveli- It is an ornate architecture in the heart of the city. It was commissioned to the then prime minister Diwan Mohata Nathmal as his official residence. 

Bada Bagh- One of the relics of Rajasthan's illustrious past, it is primarily a series of cenotaphs set amidst a garden. The beautiful golden cenotaphs gleam in the deserts of Jaisalmer and the adjoining garden. 

Jaisalmer War Museum- It was established in the military station to honor the soldiers of the 'Battle of Longewala' that was fought in 1971. It showcases the bravery and sacrifices of the Indian Army.

Amar Sagar Lake- It is an oasis near the palace of Amar Singh, located on the outskirts of Jaisalmer city. It is very close to the 17th-century citadel which was constructed by Maharawal Akhai Singh.

Tanot Mata Temple-  For those visiting the Thar Desert, Situated in the Tanot village of district Jaisalmer is a major attraction. This historical temple is associated with many legends and curiosity towards its sacred power and purity. 

Vyas Chhatri- it is an assemblage of golden sandstones, which stands as an edifice of Rajasthani architecture. It was built to honor Sage Vyasa, who compiled the 300,000 verses of the great epic Mahabharata.

Salim Singh ki Haveli- It is one of the most beautiful edifices situated in the heart of the city. It surely is one of the main tourist attractions in the city. It was commissioned by Salim Singh who was the prime minister of that time.

Great service and friendly team

Our Rajasthan trip was very unorganized and from day 1 we need to argue for each committed hotel and details. Driver and hotel were not informed in advance and we need to pay 12000/- for the forceful event at the hotel which was never informed to us.
