History


Rishikesh Ashram Parmarth Niketan's history is one of a kind. It is said to be one of the largest ashrams in Uttarakhand. Pujya Swami Divyanand Ji Maharaj was the person behind the establishment of the ashram in 1942. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji Maharaj has acted as the spiritual leader of the ashram since 1986. He has given the ashram the vibe of a home away from home.

Architecture


The Parmarth Niketan Ashram is spread across a huge area and consists of halls for various activities like Satsang, spiritual talks, kirtans, meditation sessions, and yoga classes. They also have a spacious reception area and a huge dining area. The campus has various lush green lawns and beautifully carved statues. Getting In rishikesh

BY AIR

The nearest airport is in Dehradun and is 35km from Rishikesh. From the airport you can hire a private cab or else you can go to the bus stop and get on a bus to Rishikesh.

BY ROAD

Both private and state transport is easily available from major cities of India. You may have to get on connecting buses but you can use this mode of transportation if you feel comfortable. Once you reach the bus stand you can hire an auto or a cab for Janki Jhula or Tapovan. Once you get down here you will have to walk to the Parmarth Niketan Ashram.

Great service and friendly team

Our Rajasthan trip was very unorganized and from day 1 we need to argue for each committed hotel and details. Driver and hotel were not informed in advance and we need to pay 12000/- for the forceful event at the hotel which was never informed to us.
