History
The Rajiv Gandhi Regional Museum history is not that very old. The former Vice President of India, Mohammad Hamid Ansari laid the foundation stone for the Rajiv Gandhi Regional Museum for Natural History, on 23rd December 2007. It was inaugurated by Namo Narain Meena, the former state Finance Minister on 1st March 2014. The project was under the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change. This is the fourth Natural History Museum in India, after Mysore, Bhopal, and Bhubaneswar.
Architecture
The Rajiv Gandhi Regional Museum Ranthambore is built in a Rajasthani architectural style and has three floors that display plants, livestock, mineral resources, and the geology of the western arid region. The ground floor has one gallery. Opposite the reception area, there is a library where visitors can pick any and reach books related to nature and wildlife from over 10,000 collections. The auditorium inside the museum can accommodate around 300 people.
