History
Guru Gobind Singh stopped at Pushkar, on his travels in Rajputana in 1706. A priest named Chetan Das was his disciple there. Guru Gobind Singh Ji had also stayed for quite some time at the ghats of the holy Pushkar Lake, that ghat was named to honor him as Gobind ghat, but it has now been changed to Gandhi Ghat, after Mahatma Gandhi. Still, Gobind Ghat is written in Devanagari, Gurumukhi, Roman, and Persian characters on a stone slab. A Gurdwara operated by Nirmala Sikhs used to be present on the first floor of Ghat’s entryway, but currently, it is nowhere to be found.
