History
Devoted to Lord Ranga, the Old Rangi temple Pushkar was built by Seth Puran Mal Ganeriwal of Hyderabad, in the year 1823. According to Rangji temple history, Rangji Temple Pushkar is the first temple of South India Ramanuja Sampradaya, which is practiced in the southern part of India. Ramanujacharya was a very popular Hindu theologian, Indian philosopher, and one of the most prominent exponents of the Sri Vaishnavism tradition within Hinduism.
Architecture
The Rangji Temple Pushkar was built in the year 1823, with an architectural style of a mixture of Rajputana, Mughal, and South Indian designs. The influence of South India came into its architecture since the architect was Seth Puran Mal Ganeriwal from Hyderabad. The enormous temple gates, carvings, and sculptures are influenced by the designs common in South India. Inside the temple, there are 8 more compact temples for various gods, Krishna, Lakshmi, and others. Another specialty of the temple is that you can see the main idol from every angle inside the temple. The temple gets a unique touch, also by the high-rising 'gopuram'.
