The Shivalinga, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, is reported to have existed since ancient times. The architectural splendour of the Siyali Mahadev Temple, located on Hadimba Temple road, is legendary.
Architecture
Siyali Mahadev Temple is built on a rock and cement foundation, with a wooden temple that is a wonderful blend of chalets and pagodas that is also a distinguishing characteristic of the temple. The pagoda has four levels, two of which are smaller and are positioned on one side of the pagoda, rather than in the middle, on top of the other two levels. From afar, the roof's margins contain intricately carved dangling wood pieces that resemble tassels.
The arches and the roof are supported by wooden pillars, producing a space that encircles the main shrine. This porch-like structure has one-foot-high wooden rails supported by a slew of smaller carved wooden legs. Stripes of wood have been arranged artfully on the walls of the main shrine, creating a contrast between the white colour of the wall and the rich brown colour of the wood. The main shrine's door frame and windows are also made of intricately carved wood. A swayambhu, or self-manifested Shivalinga, may be found inside the shrine.
