History
Dixit Wada is located just across from Gurusthan. With Baba's approval, construction on the edifice began in late 1910, a year after Dixit had received his first darshan of Baba and been so moved by him. The construction took around four months, and it was dedicated to Ramnavami the next year. Dixit lived in a small room on the first floor and kindly allowed pilgrims to use the remainder of the structure, which included a small dining hall. Hemadpant, the author of Sri Sai Satcharitra, always resided here when he was in Shirdi, and the Wada is mentioned in the literature multiple times.
Baba would occasionally send people to the Wada to attend Dixit's daily parayana, and puja was also performed regularly. Sri Bhishma originated the concept of celebrating Ramnavami while lying on the verandah here, and it has grown in size each year to become one of the most important events on the Shirdi calendar.
